Just a little something to show my better half that I do LOVE her more that ever.

Duplicate

I saw this “FLY” on the window at work.  The window he was setting on has two panes of glass.  He did not wait to let me get a better picture but it is a duplicate in one picture.

Trend or Trending

Taken a little while ago.  Great trend for a restaurant.  As the light shows,  (green) go—-walk for the weekly deal.

Paper

Paper messages on the fridge from the grandkids.  Love their “works of art”.

Plastic

Plastic makes such great displays.  Plastic makes the colors so great.  Pop machine display at my work.

Our eyes are the window to our soul.  My better half let me take a picture of her BROWN eyes.

Shadow

Shadow of a tree on the water in Texas from an older picture.    The second is a picture of a “shadow” of my airplane above the clouds.  The ring is what you see for a shadow on the clouds.  I love the rainbow effect.

Spicy

Our spice rack.  Me and spicy do not work for my stomach.

Gold

Yes it is real GOLD.  The nugget on the chain is a nugget I found in Alaska a few years ago. I was training a pilot in a float equipped airplane.  After several hours of flying I needed to relieve myself.  We landed  on a the river and as we drifted to shore, I looked into the river saw this nugget.  It was a stretch to reach it but as you can see I made it.  I had it made into this necklace for my wife and gave it to her when I got home.  The other gold is gold I have panned closer to home.  Another hobby.

Fabric

Family is the fabric of life.  Our daughters made this quilt from fabric that shows all the “HAND’ prints of our family and gave the quilt to us for our 40th wedding anniversary.

I ask this Granddaughter to strike a pose for me.  She did a great job.  I took this on Tuesday and on Thursday she fell and broke her collar bone.  She is not smiling as much but is doing fine.  I love her smile and attitude.

Footwear

These are from my past.  The foot wear is over 40 years old and I can still wear them.  They are very comfortable.  The hat is the same age and they go well together as a set.

Hobby

One of my hobby is working in wood.  The top car was made for my father 30 odd years ago.  When he passed I retrieved it for my kids.  The lower picture is of a cradle that I made for my daughter.  I have made 4 of these.  It takes over 60 hours to build.  A labor of love that will last a life time or two.  The cradle can be rocked on the stand or it can be removed and rocked on the floor.

Shiny

The snow in the spring has a shine.  We took these shiny picture on our trip this last week.  The bottom one is in the other  direction of the sun shinning on the snow on the top of the mountain.  I love this shot of the grain stubble in the foreground and the mountain in the back.

Color Me Green

This is a picture from last summer.  The snow is not green and I would like to see this area again covered in green.  High mountain meadow in late spring from the air as you can see.

How young do they start?  One of my Grandsons had to make sure the power was on and plugged into his mommies iPod and he is only 1 1/2 years old.  This made me smile after I took this picture.  Love it.

Stand Alone

The rotating beacon at all airports stands alone.  I caught ours with the green light on just before it turned off in the morning.

Rusty or Something Old

I have seen this old building often as we go to visit our son and his family.  We think it was a very old school that has been add on to and used for other purposes and now not used except for the bird sitting on the roof.

Artificial

This is an artificial plant sitting on the table at work.  I shot it in black and white to hide that it is not real.

Repeating Pattern

On our road trip I remembered these trees planted in very neat rows.  If you look this way you can see the rows and if you look on an angle you could see that the spacing is just right to show lines in three directions.  After I took the shot and had left I thought I should have taken a panorama shot to show the repeating patterns.  OOOPS.  Next time.

Bad weather this week only allowed one sunset.  I waited hoping… and it came through.

Black and White

In my office we have this decoration.  I thought it looked great in black and white.

A Day in my Life

During most days I am either flying or if the weather is bad I have to move snow.  These are the tools I use in a day of my life.  Often I have been told and ask if I am sure it is work or am I playing.

Four

A friend HAD to go flying even when the weather was not the best.  Great to get 4 of his L16 on takeoff.  The aircraft was made in 1947 and rebuilt 8 or 9 years ago.

Colorful

Again man does not live by chocolate alone but a woman can.  Great color on this Christmas  present not yet opened and eaten.

During the last year I have been taking pictures of the local aircraft.  I have stacked them up in the corner in the office.

Winter Wonderland

Close up of winter wonderland in our area.  It has been clear and quite cold.  This day it was – 15 degrees F.

I had to do a flight test (I am a test pilot) on an aircraft on a clear day and decided to take my camera.  This is what I get to see from 14,500 ft or 8,000 ft up from our home town.  You can see for over a hundred miles from up here.

Sweet

Sweet look and sweet granddaughter.

Hole

Holes in the rock on our recent trip.  I noticed the face (two eyes and nose) when I looked yesterday.  Can you see the face?

Frozen

With our cold temperature I have gotten several pictures of frozen frost.  This is a picture of the chain link fence early in the morning just outside my office.  I thought it was very interesting and looked great.

A new year is up on us.  This is a older picture of one color.  This mountain is just behind our house.  Normal winter one color.

Laundry

I have been told Men are such slouches and leave laundry all over.  Yes my socks are in a “group”.

Empty

We went to see some of our grandkids during this last week.  On the way this is what the fuel gauge was showing just before we fueled to finish the trip.  I have found it is easier to burn off the top half not the bottom half of the fuel tank.  Empty is not comfortable for me.

One Dozen

On the trip I saw this sign and had to take a picture of the last dozen miles we had traveled and the sign shows it.

Soft

A grandson found the soft place to take a nap on his mothers lap.  Comfort is a soft love.

Me!

This picture was taken by my brother as I flew by.  If you look close I even got of a wave for the camera.

I Love You

Our two new granddaughters playing together just before the holidays.  Love them both so…… much.

Still Laughing

During this last summer we took some scouts on a back country trip.  Notice the OLD man is up taking the pictures and look at the younger men sound asleep.  It still makes me laugh every time I see the picture.

Winter Wonderland

Contrast in black and white is just wonderful in the winter.  I love the snow on trees after a new snow fall.

Spring Fever

Picture in Honey Mommy’s front yard this last spring.  Makes me want to look forward for the new spring.

Travel or Vacation

We try to make at least two trips to the Idaho back country.  We fly in with our camping gear and spend at least a couple of days.  No phone and NO hurry to do anything.  We get to meet people from all over and love to visit and share the love of flying.  This week shown there were 58 aircraft that stopped for the evening.  It takes 18 minutes to fly to the nearest “town” but to drive would take over 2 1/2 hours.

Summer Days

During our visit I was laying on the grass and saw this view.  I love the picture of our airplane and the grass and clover.  I think this is what I really love about summer days.

A Day in My Life

Just in case you can’t guess I love taking pictures of airplanes especially in the air.  This is an AT6 WWII trainer of a friend.  We met in the air so I could get a couple pictures.  I also get to see the beauty of the world from a very different view and love what I get to see.  I look forward taking pictures with a new camera and sharing the view with you.

All Smiles

As I said before we had two new granddaughters this year.  These are pictures of grandma and the new granddaughters which will always bring smiles.

Celebrate!

Just a year ago we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. (41 Last week)  We had all the family together and this was our surprise.  Our daughters put together this quilt with all the hand prints of everyone in our family with out us knowing.  If you look close you will notice two with little hands inside their mom’s .  Yes it is our two new little ones.

Dressed Up

On one of our trips to the back country we had a cold and wet day and this is my other half all dressed up to keep warm that afternoon.

Macro

Winter has arrived and with a new camera frost shots are just great.  I love the detail of frost up close.

Holidays

Of course Christmas has to include some of the grandkids and presents.

This has been posted before but it is my favorite this year.  IT is a Sun Rise not a sun set over the Wind River Mountains in Wyoming going East very early in the morning.

Hopes and Dreams

As the sun sets and we see the frost on the ground we look forward for the new year and pray all have a great holiday season and hope the new year will be bright and full of love with family and friends that stand by each of us.  I love being able to share what I get to see and feel with everyone.  I so appreciate you comments and your visits to this site each week.  Thanks always.

What is it?

What is it?  Is a picture of Jack Frosts patterns on the concrete at work and the blue is ice melt crystals.  I have had people say it looks like mountains and or part of the moon. I love nature’s patterns.

Children/Fur Babies Sleeping

Granddaughter just could not hold out any more.  I love the picture taken by my daughter.  Not many pictures of me holding the little ones.

Joy

Taken in our front window.

Joy for the season.  Left is the point and shoot camera I have been using for the last 4 years.  Joy is the new one for Christmas this year.  A lot of new learning.  It is a Sony Alpha NEX-5N with 18-55 mm and 55-210 mm plus wide angle and 2X lenses.

Window

Love the display through the window at a local store.  Season cheer.

Half

The half showing tells it all.  No need to see the rest of the face to see the smile.  Another granddaughter.

Less is More

Less color and  less in the picture and the less said is more and her expression said it all.

The tree is all lit and ready for the season.   Most of our ornaments are home made as shown below.

A very simpley cut nativity we have had for a few years.  My son in law gave this to us.  We just love it’s simplicity.
